  • Work alongside the Director of Sustainability Programs around key RTRA programs which include Community Development Projects, Zone Initiatives, Technology, and Child Sponsorships.

 

Child Sponsorship Administration:

  • Communicate and coordinate with the Director of Sustainability Programs on weekly activities, and send weekly sponsored child pictures and supporting stories.
  • Maintain and regularly update the Child Sponsorship Database to provide accurate information on registered children, including the most vulnerable non-registered children (personal data, participation, need, etc.).

  • Work within your influence, serve as an advocate for children and their caregivers who live in poverty and are not able to speak out for themselves. This includes being informed about issues of children and influencing others to greater involvement on their behalf.
  • Offer leadership to the other project staff including the Child Survival Program (CSP) staff. This involves mentoring, coaching, supervising, coordinating, and evaluating them on their assigned roles, including monitoring their attendance and taking lead in organizing staff devotions and retreats as well as spiritual activities for the children.
  • Participate in ensuring the quality of letters and their effective delivery to the next level for dissemination to the donors as well as a timely response to the letters from sponsors to their supported children.
  • Act as an accounting officer for all project funds, ensuring that all funds are used for their intended purpose and in adherence to the set policies.
  • Prepare in cooperation with the other project workers, child development committee the project plans and budgets and submit them to the overseers and compassion representative for approval.

This involves mentoring, coaching, supervising, coordinating and evaluating them on their assigned roles, including monitoring their attendance and taking lead in organizing staff devotions and retreats as well as spiritual activities for the children.  Participate in ensuring the quality of letters and their effective delivery to the next level for dissemination to the donors as well as a timely response to the letters from sponsors to their supported children.  Act as an accounting officer for all project funds, ensuring that all funds are used for their intended purpose and in adherence to the set policies.  Prepare in cooperation with the other project workers, child development committee the project plans and budgets and submit them to the overseers and compassion representative for approval.  Supervise the implementation of the approved project plans and budget with monthly assessments done in conjunction with other stakeholders including the children, the church and the caregivers.  Submit monthly reports to the Overseer, the child development committee and other partners as required.  Manage the process of the child home visitations by the plan and program of the project. This will help in the exploration of each child’s unique needs opportunities and capabilities and recommend ways to improve the child.  Challenge, motivate and encourage the church to think of other ways of mobilizing resources that can provide sound learning opportunities for children in all areas of child development to prevent creating a dependency syndrome.  Work closely with the committee on the selection of children for sponsorship.  Assist the other project workers and share their responsibilities when the situation calls for such intervention.
