PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Parish Secretary: Rwenyaga Catholic Parish, Mbarara; 1st September 2019 – Up to date

  • Keeping records for the Parish both Financial and Church Membership.
  • Receiving Cash from Church leaders leading Churches in Rwenyaga Parish that is Offertories and tithe.
  • Paying the Parish labourers including Engineers and construction site managers and porters.
  • Procuring Church materials that is food materials, tablecloth, canteen goodies, etc
  • Assisting the Parish Priest in different tasks.

ACHIVEMENTS

  • Supervised all aspects of Parish works and paid their wages as well.
  • Maintained Cash registers and cash reconciliation.
  • Developed and maintained the Parish work plans and budgets for the last two quarters
  • Made regular payments for electricity, water and other essentials.
  • Maintained the parish database of baptisms, confirmations and marriages by registering new ones and issuing the respective certificates, though most of it was manual. I was able to register 500 baptisms in Christmas period, 300 confirmations and 20 marriages.

Intern: Treasury Services Department –Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development; 22nd July 2019-31st August 2019

  • Cross checking journals which are used to record currency records, that is when money came in and left. Use of journals to make reconciliations of rates sent by bank of Uganda and crosschecking the accuracy of debt payments.
  • Identification of procedures the government uses to acquire domestic debt through sold securities, which are treasury bills and bonds.
  • Computerisation of debt payment information into the debt management and financial analysis system (DMFAS).
  • Operation of loan agreements on loan sheets and revision of bids submitted by Bank of Uganda.

ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Crossed checked 15 journals and made reconciliations of rates sent by Bank of Uganda
  • Made 10 entries of debt payments in the debt management and financial analysis system
  • Met deadlines on assigned duties and weekly reporting.

Intern: directorate of socio-economic surveys – Uganda bureau of statistics (UBOS)

10th June – 19th July 2019

  • Formulated research topics from which we generated questions regarding the objectives of the study
  • Design of data collection tools. Practically designed Paper Assisted Personal Interview (PAPI) and Computer Assisted Personal Interview (CAPI) used on android phones and tablets where I learnt coding, skip commands and multiple responses.
  • Questionnaire application design: Further experienced design of applications extracting questions from PAPI using apps that is survey solutions and CS Pro.
  • Data entry: I harnessed census and survey processing systems (Cs Pro) as a data entry tool
  • Data analysis; This was through importation of data from Cs Pro to STATA using do-files. Using STATA, I carried out analysis of different variables in different topics so as to make useful conclusions that are able to answer the research questions.
  • Survey data management: I learnt the chain of data handling right from the field (row data) up to the last user who receives it as information especially data cleaning.

                     ACHIEVEMENTS   

  • Team work especially during the celebration of the world population day where we went to Adjumani on 11th July 2019 to represent the bureau on 12th July 2019 and returned on 13th July 2019.
  • Assigned 150 households to respective supervisors in the Uganda national household survey (UNHS)
  • Cleaned data of 50 questionnaires using survey solutions
  • Meeting deadlines on assigned duties and weekly reporting
  • Time management where I had to be at the bureau before 8 am and leave after 5 pm after successfully completing tasks assigned to me.
  • Wrote an internship report handing in one copy to the university and one to the bureau.

  • Helped in Arrangement of a porridge night at Kasalita hostel in Nabisunsa were over 25 students attended
  • Initiated the refreshment Tuesday, where auctioning of a popcorn bag would yield more money to buy refreshments like popcorn and soda for the next meeting. This helped to boost fun during the meeting and increased attendance in the weekly

Class coordinator: Statistics Association of Kyambogo University; March 2018-march 2019

  1. Linked the year three class with an enrolment of 180 students to the association through being the passage of information
  2. Helped in the organisation of the annual youth statistics day celebration held at Kyambogo University in April 2019 where about 300 students both from Kyambogo and other universities attended.
