WORK EXPERIENCE

Nokia Senegal Orange Project & Africell Sierra Leone, Feb 2021 to Date

Position: Team Leader Radio Access Engineer reporting to the Technical Project Manager

Responsibilities & Accomplishments:

  • Lead for commissioning, integration and troubleshooting of 24 pilot LTE sites for Africell Sierra Leone.
  • Lead the process of capacity expansion for Radio Network Controllers, BTS/Radio Controller software upgrade for over 20 Network elements in orange Senegal.
  • Lead and coach a team of engineers & field technicians to develop their technical skills required to effectively provide customer support in the WCDMA, GSM, LTE, 5G and small cells.
  • Lead for all Network Integration/troubleshooting/Upgrade actions for GSM, WCDMA, LTE & 5G systems.
  • Organizing and leading meetings with managers and team members to ensure goals are achieved and any challenges are resolved on time.
  • Lead and design on the job trainings for over 20 customer resources in managing LTE and Network management systems.

 

Nokia Ivory Coast MTN Project & Togocel, Feb 2020 to January 2021

Position: Swap Project Co-coordinator Reporting to Project Manager 

Responsibilities & Accomplishments:

  • Led all network integration and troubleshooting, activities of 500 single RAN sites in GSM, WCDMA and LTE Technologies.
  • Trained Local Technical personnel in the fields of GSM, WCDMA, LTE, and Single RAN in order to develop local Talent and minimize expatriate costs.
  • Functioned as Interface between the customer and Nokia on all Radio related technical issues in line with the Swap arrangement.
  • Successfully led the handover of the completed 500 sites, 4 network controllers and the network management system to the MTN customer.
  • Create daily, weekly, and monthly network implementation status control reports to customer and Nokia project teams.
  • Successfully upgraded 5 radio controllers, 2 operational management systems and 700 single RAN sites.
  • Ensured that the QoS demanded by the customer is met by the Installation, commissioning & integration teams, by implementing all the approved procedures for each activity of the implementation process.

 

Nokia Senegal & Togo/ Orange -Sonatel & Togocel Project, January 2018 to January 2020

Position: Software Upgrade Co-ordinator (August 2019- To Jan 2020 for Togocel) reporting to Technical Project Manager

Swap Project Co-coordinator (January 2018- July 2019 for Sonatel Mobiles) Reporting to Project Manager

Responsibilities  & Accomplishments:

  • Successfully led the integration and swapping of 1000 Sites (GSM, WCDMA, LTE, and Single RAN) for Orange-Sonatel from Alcatel to Nokia.
  • Successful deployed and tested 4G+ for orange Sonatel and managed to achieve a peak of 110Mbps throughput.
  • Trained more than 100 Local Technical personnel in the fields of GSM, WCDMA, LTE, Single RAN in order to develop local Talent and minimize expatriate costs.
  • Part of the team that successfully optimized the GSM, 3G, 4G networks for Orange-Sonatel that improved the quality of service with CSSR of 99% and CDR of 0.1.
  • Successfully upgraded the software on 2 OMS, 12mcRNC, 17mcBSC, 1700 SRAN, 600 SRAT-2G/3G/4G to SRAN18SP/WCDMA18/LTE18.
  • Create daily, weekly, and monthly network Implementation status control reports to customer and Nokia project teams.
  • Technically advise the procurement team (like BOQ verification) before equipment orders are made to ascertain right equipment and quantities are ordered.

           

Nokia Bissau-Orange Bissau/Nokia Togo-Togocel/Nokia Somaliland-Somtel Jan 2017 to Dec 2017

Position: BSS Co-coordinator Reporting to Project Manager

Responsibilities & Accomplishments:

  • Successfully completed software migration to required release within the allocated time. All services and HW fully accepted with no reservations.
  • Successfully led the integration and swapping of 200 Sites (GSM, WCDMA, LTE, and Single RAN) for Orange-Bissau from Alcatel to Nokia.
  • Led the process of contractor management and evaluation to ensure that the right and appropriate people are selected for effective execution.
  • Led and coached a team of local engineers & field technicians to develop their technical skills required to effectively provide customer support in the WCDMA, GSM &LTE.

 Position: Technical Support Engineer Reporting to the Technical Project manager

 Responsibilities & Accomplishments:

  • Followed-up the civil works progress (site readiness) and forecasted the RAN implementation, accordingly, taking the necessary actions to fulfill the customer’s expectations and milestones
  • Managed to successfully build a strong image for Alcatel-Lucent products that won the organization severally business customers.
  • Successfully led the integration and swapping over 1000 Sites (GSM, WCDMA &LTE) 300 links and 30 routers.
  • Made quality assurance reports on major KPIs for all technologies.

 

INTERNSHIP AND VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE

Volunteer, UN Women in collaboration with NOKIA,  July 2020 – to Date

The Nokia – UN Woman collaboration program for technology and innovation gender equality. UN women is based on the WEP (Women’s Empowerment Principles commitment: Set of Principles offering guidance to business on how to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in the workplace, marketplace, and community). Currently working as a content creator and facilitator on the Inua project in Kenya aimed at promoting STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education.

 

Volunteer, Youth Alive Uganda,  2003– to Date

Youth Alive Uganda aims at helping the Young people to change attitudes and behavior so as to Enhance abilities and opportunities of children, adolescents, and young adults for integral development. Working as a facilitator during trainings on life skills, sexual reproductive health rights, soft skills , financial Literacy, and human rights education.

Assisted with technical sales  and post-sales support for ZTE telecommunications products to different clients like Airtel, MTN Uganda  and Uganda telecom.

Was part of the team that managed the daily maintenance of the runway and control tower equipment at Entebbe International Airport in line with electrical and telecommunications department.
