WORK EXPERIENCE AND ACHIEVEMENTS
TAX /Assistant Accountant/, Uganda Tea Corporation Lugazi, July 2018- to date
Roles
- Oversight of all tax Issues including VAT, NSSF, With Holding Tax, PAYE, Local Service
- Ensuring timely tranche execution of mandatory taxes in the Accounts Department
- Coordinating office operationalization in Uganda and Kenya and all other tea and coffee estates that include 3 estates and 15 divisions, 20 Management staff and over 500 junior staff.
- Ensuring timely statutory submissions and facilitating negotiations and engagements;
- Maintaining good governance and administration and providing proper resources oversight.
- Managing and leading the administrative team , supporting the human resource team and department
- Managing and monitoring all exports and imports from and in Uganda
- Overall knowledge of Tea and Coffee factory handling, growing and high quality production
- Monthly stock take and oversight of reports from all stores and procurement and other departments

Roles
- Replenishing the petty cash and reconciling the bank accounts;
- Ensuring accuracy in data entry and coordinating the donor and staff operations.
Achievements
- Greatly contributed to completion of funded project activities for African Prisons Project (2015/16) and ensured proper compliance to the granting contract and reduction in resource leakages;
- Successfully audited and reported on 500 million deffered VAT tax of Uganda Tea Corporation and clearly achieved a refund of up to 400 million in cash in a period under one year and further prepared write off files for unsuccessful invoices.
- Progressively improved the port operationalization and reduced the constraints in the clearance of goods at the port while at Multiple Inland Container Depot (MICD), Ntinda;
- Successfully contributed to reduction in high cost expenditures at Potter Health Care Clinic while attaining program targets involved with improved health in child and maternal lives (Kyenjojo District) Western Uganda.
- Successfully attained the reputation of an investigative auditor and being assigned to high alert audit assignments as an Junior Associate evidenced by audits performed on behalf of the Austrian Development Agency and Embassy and Andema Fred & Associates.
- Successfully organized the first ever Music and Tourism Culture festival Street Jam in Arua, West Nile Uganda in the last day of 2017
